ShadowCraft Phetchaburi is a group of undergraduate students in the Digital Content and Game program in Phetchaburi, Thailand. Mr. Parit Polchai is the team captain, leading a group of 4–6 members. They were inspired by the Phetchaburi Harmony World Shadow Puppet Festival held in 2022 when they were freshmen. Their instructor, Dr. Thadthong Bhrammanee, brought an Indian Dashnand puppet from the festival to the classroom, which led the students to create a simple computer game featuring a Q&A on Ramayana characters. Although they are information technology students, they aim to raise awareness of traditional literature.  

    In 2025, ShadowCraft Phetchaburi is presenting a showcase called “HanuTrans” (Hanuman Transformation; Hanuman Digital Fusion). This work is inspired by Hanuman, a character from the epic Ramakien, and blends traditional Thai shadow puppetry with 2D digital artwork. The Hanuman figure is meticulously crafted from 123 individual digital pieces through an intricate design and production process, resulting in both still images and stop-motion animation.  

    This creation embodies a fusion of art and culture, reimagining Thai heritage in a contemporary form. It showcases the beauty and spirit of Hanuman, bridging the past and present through a modern perspective. The narrative explores Hanuman’s origins. Notably, the 'HanuTrans' demonstration has never been shown to the public before.  Stay tuned!
